25-June-2008 Over 300 students sat the first¡Vever Mandarin Proficiency Test in Australia |

The Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia is pleased to see 317 students went for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu(TOP) in Brisbane Sunny Bank State High School on 13 of April. Although the test was a pioneer trial test, it still attracted over 300 students from universities and schools levels with Mandarin programs as well as Chinese weekend schools who are registered with our office.
The 2008 Mandarin Proficiency Test in Brisbane was administered by Steering Committee for the Test of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP) supervised by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. It was sponsored and liaised by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brisbane and the Cultural Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia. Tzu Chi Academy Queensland was the local organizer to establish the working committee and a working group from 2007 to conduct the test. The purpose of test is for whom want to know about their level of Mandarin proficiency or for whom want to study and work in Mandarin Speaking environment to evaluate the Mandarin abilities.
