Current Educational & Cultural Exchanges With Australia

Over the past years, the educational exchanges and cooperation between Australia and Taiwan, have gone smoothly and have been increasing both in scale and in frequency. The exchanges mainly in student enrolments, academic staff exchanges, education collaborations, professional development programs, seminars and government officials visit.

Taiwan’s Effort

With the mission to strengthen its cultural and educational services with Australia in education, the Cultural Division was established in 1994 by the MOE, Taiwan, under Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia. Taiwan’s efforts at this stage focus on the following activities:

• Taiwan Scholarship

• Short Term Visiting Research Project

• Sponsorship for  Academic and Cultural Exchange activities

• Taiwan Education Centre

• Field Seminar in Higher Education

• Study Tour for High School Students

• Vocational Education and Training Seminar

Forward prospects

Looking back, we have achieved many of our goals in educational and cultural collaboration and exchange between Australia and Taiwan. We can expect that in the future both sides will build on their commitment to continue promoting an active and solid relationship. We look forward to higher level and larger scale exchanges, and also hope to move from a “point to point ” collaboration to a more integrated  “dimension to dimension” scheme.
