2010 Taiwan Scholarship Program is now open for application!!!

Taiwan Scholarship Program is funded by government agencies of the Republic of China (Taiwan) – the Ministry of Education (MOE) and National Science Council of the Executive Yuan (NSC). The Scholarship aims to encourage outstanding international students to undertake degree programs in Taiwan. Any Australian citizen with an excellent academic record and of good moral character is eligible to apply. 

The amount of each scholarship varies in accordance with the funding government agency’s policy:
a. MOE Scholarship:
A monthly stipend of NT$25,000 (approximately AU$850) for undergraduate( including optional 1 year LEP study), and NT$30,000 (approximately AU$1,000) for a postgraduate degree program( including optional 1 year LEP study).
b. NSC Scholarship:
A monthly stipend of NT$30, 000 (approximately AU$1,000) for a postgraduate degree program .

Recipients have a responsibility to pay for their international airfares, tuition fees, lodging/accommodation fees, food, health insurance and other expenses.

The time frame of 2010 selection is as below:

Schedule Date
Application period 01 February ~ 31 March
Reviewed by Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Australia (TECO) 1 April ~ 24 April
Announcement of selection result by TECO 30 April
Applicants who pass selection apply for the admission permit from desired university, and send it to the Cultural Division to confirm the scholarship status 1 May ~ 30 June
Announcement of Scholarship recipients 31 July
