Aim
The 2010 Taiwan Research Visiting Scholar Grant program is funded by the Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan), aiming to promote independent or collaborative research on Taiwan-related topics by international scholars. The preferred research topics include political science, economics, sociology, education, arts, geography, law, management, or conservation of natural environment in relation to Taiwan.

Value of the Grant

Economy Class round-trip direct-flight airfare tickets will be ordered and provided
-
A local daily allowance of USD$200.00 will be offered (this is inclusive of the arrival and departure days)

The Visiting research period will be subject to the proposed research, but is to be no more than 3 weeks (21 days)
Responsibilities of the recipients

Recipients must complete the visiting trip by the end of October, 2010.

Recipients are subject to arrange their own schedule while in Taiwan.

Recipients are required to submit the Cultural Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia (hereinafter referred to as “Cultural Division”) an after-visit report, detailing the trip, and their newly learnt information and findings, within two weeks after returning from Taiwan.

Recipients must retain all boarding passes and post them back to the Cultural Division within one week after returning from Taiwan.
Eligibility and applying procedure

Must be an Australian Citizen
-
Currently working in an academic institutions(universities, research organizations, and so forth)with a master’s or a doctor’s degree
-
Has not previously received an award under this Grant program
-
Has a good background knowledge of Taiwan

A copy of their CV with a photo

A completed Application Form (see attachment)
Important Notice
The daily allowance will be transferred through the Cultural Division to the recipients upon receiving the proof of visiting Taiwan(the copy of recipient’s passport main and visa pages, boarding passes).
