ACT Mandarin Presentation Contest

AWARD CEREMONY 116Ten educational institutions, including 300 students competed in the 2009 ACT Mandarin Presentation Contest.

Preparations for the contest were conducted in each institution from May to September. This year, Mawson Primary school, Melrose and Canberra high schools, Canberra, Lake Ginninderra, Narrabundah and Dickson colleges, Melba Copland Secondary School, Australian National University and University of Canberra registered for the contest. The three most outstanding students from each school were awarded a Certificate of Achievement at the 2009 ACT Mandarin Presentation Contest Award Ceremony at the Centre for Teaching and Learningon Nov.6, 2009.

During the ceremony, students showcased Mandarin performances including chanting, singing Taiwanese pop songs and performing Chinese traditional folk drama. The contest is supported by the Cultural Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia.
